Opening in October 2026, Christ the King Nursery School will provide a nurturing and inspiring environment where young children (aged 3 and 4) can begin their educational journey with confidence and joy.
Our Early Years provision will be carefully designed to help children develop the essential skills, knowledge and independence needed to become school ready. Through a rich programme of play-based learning, exploration and discovery, children will be encouraged to grow socially, emotionally, physically and academically, laying strong foundations for future success.
As part of the Christ the King family, children and parents will become valued members of our welcoming school community. Rooted in Gospel values, we will work in partnership with families to ensure every child feels safe, supported and celebrated as they take their first steps into education.
We look forward to welcoming our first Nursery School children in October 2026 and beginning this exciting new chapter together.

Therefore, all Nursery School children are required to wear the Christ the King school uniform. As the youngest members of the Christ the King family, our Nursery School children share the same identity and high expectations as the rest of the school. Wearing the school uniform helps children to feel proud, confident and ready to learn, whilst strengthening their sense of belonging to our caring and faith-filled community from the very start of their educational journey.

The Nursery School follows the Foundation Stage curriculum which is progressive, building on the skills and knowledge that your child already has. The approach to learning is through structured play-based activities which encourage the child to learn at their own pace and ability. It is enjoyable and challenging. Children see play as their ‘work’. In Nursery, we ensure that play is purposeful and carefully planned objectives can be worked towards in a variety of learning situations which have the characteristics of play.
In accordance with government guidelines, the curriculum for the Foundation Stage is organised into three prime areas of learning and development: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language and Physical Development and four specific areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
Talk to your child about Nursery and tell them the things they will do.
- Have a positive attitude yourself. Do not pass on any anxieties of your own.
- Look at books about Nursery with your child.
- Teach your child to use the toilet independently (sensible clothes will help here).
We hope that your child’s year with us will provide a strong foundation for their future. Together, in partnership with you as parents, we can work towards giving them a positive start to their education enabling them to fulfil their potential.
