Mother of God Parish
The school is a stone’s throw away from Mother of God Parish on New Parks Boulevard. The children can walk to mass here, with it being almost big enough to cater for our growing school community. The Parish Priest is Fr Hans.
Masses at Mother of God are said in both English and Malayalam.

Working with our Parishes
Joint Masses
Each term, children from the Infants and Juniors join to share Mass together. This takes place in the Junior Hall and is celebrated by either Fr John Cahill or Fr Hans. These are beautiful occasions where families are invited to attend and celebrate the liturgy together.
Parish Invites
Our Liturgies and Celebrations of the Word are placed in the Parish newsletter of Mother of God and The Blessed Sacrament and St. Peter’s. Parishioners are invited to share the prayerful time and events throughout the year with our Christ the King children.
Assemblies and Liturgies
Missionary Discipleship: Each year, Fr John Cahill comes into both the Infant and Junior school sites to give an assembly on Bishop Patrick McKinney’s Themes: Encounter, Discipleship and Missionary Discipleship. This year (2025-26), Fr Cahill has shared the theme of ‘Missionary Discipleship’. A missionary disciple is a friend of Jesus who calls others into friendship with Jesus through their words and actions. Fr John spoke to the children this week about how they can be Missionary Disciples at school and at home. We have set some Missionary Discipleship Challenges for our families and children to complete during the term. You can find them here. How many can you carry out?
Who am I? Fr John Cahill spoke to our Year 4 children on the theme of ‘Who am I?’ as part of the children’s RED (Religious Education Directory) lessons. He spoke to the children about Jesus being Our God, Our King, and Holy. The children reflected on pieces of Scripture and used their knowledge to produce some beautiful pieces of art.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Fr John Cahill and Fr Hans come into school to give the Sacrament of Reconciliation to our Junior children. This usually takes place in the Advent term, before Christmas, and the Lent term, during the season of Lent. This gives the children an opportunity to receive the Sacrament and spend some time reflecting in the presence of God.
Hymn Practice
We are very grateful to have Fr John Cahill come to the Junior Site to lead hymn practice with Key Stage 2. During the hymn practices, Fr John taught the children responses and sung prayers that are used during the Mass. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning how singing during Mass helps us to pray with reverence and joy. They even learnt some Latin! These have then been incorporated into our school Masses.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Our Year 3-6 children have the opportunity to experience Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament three times a year. Fr John Cahill or Fr Hans comes into school to spend some time in silent prayer in the presence of Jesus.
